Labor Day Weekend was great!

The much-anticipated Labor Day Weekend Bash turned out to be a success. I got so caught up in the event that I forgot to take any pictures. Sort of funny how things like that happen. Here is a short synopsis. Saturday we cleaned and canned. Sunday we went to Wishek and to church. After we got home from Wishek, we started the coffee and cut up some vegetables, and took the hamburger patties out of the freezer so we could grill for supper. As I was digging through the fridge, I pulled out the zucchini and Jessica baked a chocolate zucchini cake.

By 5 p.m. we had most of supper ready to go and people started going through the buffet. Roger, Wanda and Tiffany were here from Sioux Falls, and because of the hail there, they wanted to leave right after supper to see what sort of damage they had. After we ate and visited and all that other stuff, James fired up the fire pit. We sat around that for a bit, and as soon as the sun started fading, Paulina and Melissa and I fired up the projector and set up the outdoor theater.

By the time we got everyone gathered around complete with chairs and blankets and popcorn and such, we had American Graffiti in the VCR. It was perhaps the best PRIVATE viewing of that movie I have ever seen. Later after most of the family went home or to bed, Melissa and I watched Animal House. Carson really wanted to see that show with the animals in the house, but fortunately he was zoned out as Bruce (his Dad) said he did not want his six-year-old watching such things. I guess he is right about that part. Well, we had a great time, and hopefully we can have a couple more of those nights before it gets too cold.

Another food picture. The bugs were so bad we ate inside.

Hope you all had a great weekend. Love to hear what you all did.
