Today we headed to Dickinson to return Ana to her family. As we were traveling on US Highway 83 we came across this group of eagles just north of Moffit in North Dakota. There is a small lake beside the road and with the freezing and thawing and the melting there were carrion of fish frozen into the lake. James pulled over and I handed the small Canon to Paulina who took these pictures. I sure wish we would have thought to pack the big camera with the zoom. Never be caught without it, that is the new rule. She counted at least 30 eagles on the lake and the surrounding area. Some were Golden Eagles, but most were Bald Eagles.
None of us had ever seen a group this large in our lives, it was an amazing sight and if Ana had not started fussing in the car seat, we might still be there watching them.
