Spring rain

It rained today, and it was a good rain. The pastures are already looking greener. It is nice, but the down side is that we could use a few more shots of it. One of the prettiest pictures of today is of the trees on my mother’s yard.

The evergreens are all getting ready to begin their yearly sprout. It seems after they gain a certain height they really take off. James took the cones off the small ones; we need to get the rest off, and perhaps crush them and use them for compost.

The stump in our yard has finally fallen apart. We will have to cut that to the ground and do away with it this summer. I am not sure where I will plant the moss roses, but I will have to find a spot. Here are a few more pictures of the rain today. Some were taken with my phone so will not be of the same quality.

Your mother’s tree in bloom is beautiful. Have to ask why you take the pine cones “off” the tree??? We have pines everywhere and the thought of that is beyond my abilities!! Our resident squirrels have a feast with the pine cones.
