I don’t happen to have any baskets of candy to drop at your doorstep today then ring the bell and run away. Instead I will drop a few pictures of what the yard has become over the past week or so. I have started so many posts in my head in the last few days, but when you are away from the computer and the internet, it is hard to put anything out there, but I won’t bore you any more than necessary today.
So, I will try to walk you around the yard throwing in plants, trees and an occasional cat…..
Let’s start with the peony bed. I was really surprised today when I came outside and saw what a bit of rain did for this area. According to the new rain gauge, we had a trace of rain yesterday.
From the looks of this last picture, I would say it is time to clean out my mother’s flower beds. I imagine I could do it in the time that it takes me to post this blog, but you can all see where my priorities lie.
Going around the house, looking at my mother’s place we see the first cat picture of the post. It was taken yesterday when I was trying to scare off Werewolf.
There were two high points in my garden tour this morning. One was the potato plant that has surfaced.
I was so excited to see life in the pear trees. Now that I think about the leaf at the very bottom of the north one, I am concerned. I wonder if it is a grafted tree, and the pear part has died and we will just get something none pear growing. It will be interesting to find out as the spring progresses.
The bummer of the yard tour was this find under the clothes line that I found yesterday. They are popping up in other places too.
See you later with more cat photo and such. Time I get to work before I need to head to practice. We have another meet tomorrow, and I was hoping to show the athletes where they stand currently.

I was wondering what that fuzzy plant was. What a cute peony.

We have the gift of dandelions here too. I don’t mind digging them out. I used to pay the children a penny per dandelion head to keep them under control! I can’t believe how very, very dry your ground is. The potato seems to have cracked the earth open!

It is super dry here. We are at the start of a drought that could go a while.

Ya she is outside hiding under the steps. She does look much better. I think she would like you to throw out your cats and have her.
