Day at ND legislature

There is no school in Linton or HMB today because of The state wrestling tourney. We decided to take advantage of it to go visiting. We started by dropping Paulina off at class, doing a short bit of shopping then to the state Capitol to spend the day with Jessica. Later this afternoon we will head out to Dickinson to see the Clarks. James got to sit on the floor with Jess. He might even have made the video as a woman near Jess had to explain a bill.

That’s exciting! I have been reading Laura Ingalls Wilder’s diary of their 1894 (?) trip in a covered wagon from De Smet, South Dakota, to the Ozarks where they settled. Even then, relatively soon after western expansion, the State capitols and sometimes county seats were of great importance to that part of America.
