Sewing Projects: The robe

I finally finished the robe. I was going to style it, but I will just give you the views from the hanger. I was supposed to gather the seams, but I couldn’t help making them pleat. It just looked so much better to me. I plan to make another one a bit smaller and I believe that I will gather that one. I should shorten the sleeves, but I haven’t decided if it is worth the effort. These work for me, so we will see. I should turn the hem at the bottom to make sure it doesn’t ravel, and I will need to finish the seams inside, but again, so far it works, so this is it for now.

I am not real happy with how the front pleats hang. I think that the bobbin pulled as I was doing on of the zipper seams and that might be the problem. On the other hand it could have something to do with the way it was pressed. I am thinking that a good investment would be a new ironing board. It sure would make the sewing easier. I used to have an old, iron board. I sure with that I still had it. I don’t know if it broke and that is why I ditched it, or if it was just one of those, “I need a new one,” thing. Anyway, I just wanted to share the robe.
