Happy New Year

This morning we woke to more snow. It is a slow, steady snowfall. It is hanging on the round shed like crazy. I took the photos below early so there is even more snow on it now. I can’t look out the east window anymore to check it, I have to open the door. We have a door that is mostly window, and it wasn’t the greatest investment when we remodeled this house, and now it is pretty much falling apart. We are going to replace it, but the lumber yard owners are on vacation until next week, so it will be a few days before we get the new one installed. Hopefully we can afford to replace it with one of equal window. I am also hoping to save the current window for use in the garden as a cold/hot bed sort of thing. Anyway, my big concern is breaking that window. We closed it up with plastic this afternoon and sealed it with duct tape. You might be a red-neck if…. Our neighbor uses duct tape to hold his cars together, so we figure it is just the neighborhood. Our neighbor is the county lawyer, in case any of you were wondering about the learning curve around here. We might be the Mayberry of South Dakota or something. So, this blog is just to say, “Happy New Year to all!!” It is also to report the weather and then to do a shout out for the puzzle. This is not the easiest one we have dug out of the box, though not as hard as what Glenda brought to Adie’s last week. Don’t anyone comment on the intelligence needed to put this together. Last words, really for now, the Rose Bowl Parade was awesome, all those flowers makes me want to get right into the garden and start digging. Oh, where is summer??? Ok as much as I want to think about summer and beg it to please get here, I realize that we have a few birthdays to go before we get there, so  patience, patience. Take care and stay warm….

(My comment “could not be posted” so apologies if this is a repeat.) A very Happy New Year, Lucinda! Your snow is very pretty and with the addition of the “snowflakes” falling on the screen it seems very real. That is some puzzle – more than 1,000 pieces?
Wishing you and your family many blessings in 2014. I look forward to following your adventures on your blog. X
