So what could possibly be in two weeks from today. My youngest child will turn 18. There will be no minors in the house. She can decide for herself what she wants to do, when, where and why. Yikes! Thankfully she has not been a real pain about that in the past. Hopefully she doesn’t decide to break loose once that magic 18 hits.
I suspect that the “Golden” child, who recently turned 25 is trying hard to corrupt the near 18 year-old. There was a hint of “appointment” which I took to mean tatoo, last weekend. Makes me think of the Saturday when they went to Bismarck together and I couldn’t reach either of them. I found some pictures of tattoos on the lap top after they left, and I was sure they were going to come home with a tatoo on the youngster. I was fit to be tied. I nearly called the police. Later we learned they were at a movie and their phones were dead. “Good story, Ross.”
Since this birthday falls on a Tuesday, I am not sure there will be a real grand issue. Quite a shame though to think that you turn 18 and there isn’t some celebration of some sort. It seems that is always the case around here. We used to have a thing about certain gifts at certain stages. I think we gave them each a Black Hills Gold ring when they were 16, or was it 13. I know it was one of those. There used to be a TV reality show about the birthday parties of rich kids when they turned 16. Good grief, if the money spent on one of those would be used for world peace or to eradicate hunger, we wouldn’t have any problems any place, anywhere any more. (Try saying that fast three times).
I am in school again today, and I see that the prep hour is nearly over, so I will have to finish this during lunch break or after school. Seems we will be in the building most of tonight. There is a basketball game here, and James has been asked to watch over the concession stand because the athletic director is down for the count. He has been sick since last week. I might be going for some tests by now. Wait, I never go for anything. He probably feels the same way I do about Doctors. Hopefully it is just a passing bug.
Well, I will leave you with a couple of photos. I have the out-of-doors shot which isn’t too exciting.
I also have an update on the scarf contest. At this point the blue is winning, but since I need to tie in the next skene, I will start working on the peach again.
I am playing musical needles with my size 10′s. I broke one of the plastic double-pointed size 10′s so now I am back to the steel needles. I guess I now know why they don’t make those plastic ones any more. I have broken 2 of the 4 that I had. Drats. I really liked them too. All I did was pick it up and it snapped right in my hand. Fortunately I was able to transfer the work quickly and didn’t lose anything. Well as in the words of the Winnie the Pooh characters, TTFN and stay warm.

I always love the conversational tone you write with. It’s as though we’re chatting in the kitchen.
