Happy Golden Birthday, Victoria!

Happy Birthday to You, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Victoria. Happy Birthday to you…….oooooooo. Oh and just for good measure, here are a few old photos to look over. And as for your real gift, you will have to wait for your sister Jessica to arrive from Bismarck. She has possession of your card with gift and tangible gift. Also she was given cupcakes that she might share, but sorry we didn’t send a specific cake for you. I would have baked, but the pukey way I felt, I didn’t want to infect anyone.

Not trying to be mean, but this might have been a better car idea for you. By the way, please take care when driving in the future. I had three, not kidding, three different dreams last night in which I saw the little green car all smashed up. No details, dream always ended there.

Let’s just say, those were the days, when all the children were young and we didn’t have to worry about jobs or college or cars or where they would be when it came time to turn out the lights and go to sleep. For any of you parents of young families who read this, just know right now today exactly how fortunate you are to know where your children are tonight when you go to sleep, at home in their bed, even if they wake up in the middle of the night demanding food or drink or just a hug because of a bad dream. Well, enough of the morbid. I will move on to more information.

Wow, when I was younger, as in before children, I didn’t even know what a Golden Birthday was. Since I was born on the 10th, I am sure that the day went by without a big deal. In fact, I believe that is the birthday that I thought was skipped. Oh well. I hope Victoria isn’t thinking we skipped her this year too. I know we sent her things, but that is not the same as being there.

Plans from earlier this year were to have Jaxon spend tonight with Grandma, Grandpa and Paulina in Linton while Mom and Dad (aka Victoria and Nate) spend time in Bismark. Movie, supper and such. Well, things change around here faster than you can say your name.

After I spent the night last Wednesday and part of Thursday in Jamestown with Victoria, I probably stuck my nose in where it didn’t belong, but I did. I told her that I couldn’t believe she was doing all she was and that she hadn’t gotten sick sooner. So, as of yesterday, we heard the birthday plan is that Nate will come home (Jamestown) later today, and they will work on finishing some carpentry work in the house. On Saturday, a real estate person will be in to have a look at the house and talk price. They are putting the house up for sale and getting ready to move the entire family to the western part of the state, so they can all be together.

If Victoria has learned anything from her parents, I am betting that they will end up living in one town, Nate will travel west and Victoria will travel in one of the other directions to either work, finish school or some other thing. So whatever the case, I hope you have/had/will have a great birthday. I understand your sister plans to spend some time with you today. Take a hug from her so you can steal a little of the one I gave her yesterday, and know that we are thinking of you and wish that we could all be together having coffee and talking or setting a puzzle or something fun. You only have one Golden Birthday, it just stinks that we can’t be there, but in the words of your Aunt Adie, I guess it is what it is.
